Auto Ordering Settings

Auto Ordering is an optional Profit Scraper feature which allows you to process your orders automatically, therefore saving you time not having to process them yourself. To learn more about Auto Ordering and our pricing structure please click here.

To access the Auto Ordering settings page, please ensure you are logged in to the Profit Scraper member's area and then click here or navigate to the relevant menu link as shown here:

You will notice that on the left-hand side of the Auto Ordering Settings tab, you will see another group of sub-tabs.

Each sub-tab contains auto ordering settings relating to that specific store. So for example, the Amazon sub tab will contain settings relating to Auto Ordering on Amazon. The Costcouk sub tab will contain settings relating to Auto Ordering on Costco UK. Depending on the country you are selling in, you will see different stores available.

We will now explain each store setting for Amazon as this is the most popular store used, however, you can also use this guide for the other available stores too.

Enabling / Disabling Auto Ordering

By default, auto ordering is disabled on your account. If you would like to use Auto Ordering for a particular store you will need to enable it. To do this, simply choose Yes in the Enable Auto Ordering setting as shown below:

Fully Complete Order

Profit Scraper has the option of fully placing each of your orders on your chosen store (e.g. Amazon) or adding the customer's address only. For full details about the added benefits of fully completing the order, please click here.

The three options for this setting are explained in more detail below:

  • Yes - Profit Scraper will attempt to fully place each of your orders automatically.
  • Just add address - Profit Scraper will only add the customer's address to the store's website, for you to complete the order manually yourself.
  • Pause account access - If you need to access your store directly for any reason (e.g. refunding a customer on Amazon), you can pause the account access, so that Profit Scraper will not try to access your store account at the same time as sometimes the store thinks there is a fraud taking place when there are simultaneous logins to an account.

Amazon E-mail

Enter your Amazon e-mail address so that Profit Scraper can automatically access your account to place the orders / add customer addresses on your behalf.

Amazon Password

Enter your Amazon password so that Profit Scraper can automatically access your account to place the orders / add customer addresses on your behalf.

Please note - The rest of the settings for Auto Ordering are for customers that are using Profit Scraper to fully process orders. If you are using the "Just add address" option then please ignore the rest of the settings.

Credit Card Number

If you are using a credit/debit card to process your orders then you should enter the long card number here. Profit Scraper uses this to match the correct payment method on the Amazon checkout page. If you are using Gift Cards to process orders, then leave this field empty.

CVV Code

If you are using a credit/debit card to process your orders then you should enter the CVV number here. Profit Scraper uses this to match the correct payment method on the Amazon checkout page.

Phone Number

This is used for the store to contact you if there are any issues with your order (mostly delivery problems). Profit Scraper will use the customer's phone number by default and use the number you add here as a backup number in case the customer doesn't have a phone number available.

Use own phone number for all orders rather than customer's number?

If you would like to use your own phone number as the default phone number used for the order, then choose Yes here, otherwise choose No.

Feedback message

You can optionally set a custom eBay feedback message which will be sent to the customer after the order has been processed.

Send orders as a gift?

You can choose to send all your Amazon auto orders as a gift, to ensure that the price of the Amazon item is hidden on all deliveries. We recommend this is set to Yes.

Set orders as dispatched on eBay?

You can optionally mark the order as "dispatched" in eBay to help maintain high seller performance levels in eBay.

Leave positive feedback on eBay?

You can optionally leave positive feedback for the eBay customer as soon as the order is processed.

Set gift message

You can optionally set a gift message which will appear on the Amazon gift receipt.

Delete the address after placing the order?

You can optionally delete the customer's address from your Amazon address book. We recommend you do this, to ensure the Amazon checkout page loads quickly when processing future auto orders. Hundreds of addresses can slow the page down and cause problems with the automatic ordering process.

Default Delivery Method

When placing the order on Amazon, Profit Scraper will choose the delivery option based on the setting you choose here.

Shipping option Description
No rush (Free shipping) / Fast (Paid shipping) This option should be used if you are selling in the UK / EU and you want your customer to have 3-5 day free shipping. Optionally if you have a paid shipping option in your Profit Scraper eBay settings, those orders will be dispatched using Amazon's premium shipping service which is usually the next day option. You should ensure you are using an Amazon prime account in order to use this shipping method.

We recommend this option for all users selling in the UK / EU
Standard (Free shipping) / Fast (Paid shipping) This option should be used if you want to default to Amazon's "standard" delivery service when it is available. It will also choose Amazon's default "premium" shipping service (e.g. Next day) if you have a paid shipping option selected in your Profit Scraper eBay settings.

Generally, we do NOT recommend using this option.
Fast (Free + Paid shipping) If you want ALL orders to be shipped using Amazon's next day delivery service.

We do NOT recommend using this option as it could cause your Amazon account to be banned.

Still place order if profit is negative?

You may want to still process orders if there is a small negative profit. Negative profits only usually arise if there was a higher Amazon sales tax or eBay final value fees charged than was expected.

Max negative profit allowed

If you have chosen Yes for the setting above, then you can set the maximum negative profit that you are prepared to allow here.

Don't place orders above this value

Sometimes you may want to check high-value orders before sending them to your customer. To set a threshold for orders that should not be automatically processed, enter a value here. E.g. if you do not want to automatically process orders that are over £100, enter 100 here.

Note that once you have verified a high-value order, to process it you can select the order from your Auto Ordering report and then choose "Retry and place order" from the drop-down menu.

Limited quantity

Some items on Amazon are limited quantity items. This means that each Amazon account can only order a certain amount of items in a given day. Unfortunately, Profit Scraper doesn't know which items have a limited quantity until an order is processed and Amazon show the error message that there is a limited quantity enforced on that item.

When Profit Scraper sees the error message from Amazon that the item has a limited quantity, you can choose the action you wish to take.

  • None - Do nothing.
  • Delist - Delist the item from your eBay account so that it isn't sold again.
  • Set as Out of Stock - Keep the item in your eBay account but set it to be out of stock. Effectively this option will set a custom stock level of 0 for this item which you can remove at a later date once you know that you are able to order these items again.

Turn ON bundle ordering?

Amazon usually only allow free 3-5 days (or 2 days in USA) deliveries when a minimum order threshold is reached. You should choose bundle ordering so that free shipping will always be available for your orders.

If at the time of receiving an order, the value of the order is below the Amazon threshold for free delivery and you have bundle ordering enabled, Profit Scraper will keep the order as "pending" until new orders are received. Every time new orders are received, Profit Scraper will perform a calculation to determine if the total of all pending orders + the new order together reaches Amazon's threshold. It will then place the order as a bundle using Amazon's "Deliver to multiple addresses" feature.

The different options are described below:

  • No - Turn off bundle ordering (not recommended)
  • Yes, for add-on items only - Only bundle orders when Amazon "add-on" items need to be ordered. (not recommended)
  • Yes, for both add-on items and minimum threshold - Bundle orders for ALL orders so that they are only placed when the minimum threshold is reached. (recommended)

Use gift card only?

If you are using Amazon gift cards to purchase your orders AND you also have a credit/debit card linked to your Profit Scraper account, you should choose Yes for this setting.

By default, Profit Scraper will use any remaining gift card balance to process orders and then fall back to the credit/debit card on file with Amazon. If you don't want to do this, then please ensure you choose Yes.

Amazon supplier priority

When ordering, if there are both Amazon and FBA suppliers available to choose from, you can choose which supplier will be chosen. This will only work if the price is no more than 10 cents/pence between the available suppliers.

This setting is useful if you are a VAT registered business and need to ensure that you can reclaim the VAT from the seller. As Amazon is VAT registered, it's useful to set Amazon as the supplier with a higher priority.

Automatically rotate orders between Amazon accounts?

If you are a high volume user and process hundreds of orders per day, you may want to spread your orders between multiple Amazon accounts so that there is no backlog of orders. For more information about this feature, click here.

General Settings

The General Settings are settings which are not related specifically to eBay. Currently, these consist of a couple of settings relating to Paypal. To access the General Settings page, you can either click here or use the member's navigation menu as shown below:

Fee (%)

This is the fee percentage which Paypal charge you for each transaction made through your Paypal account. It's important you enter an accurate figure as this is used to calculate the selling price of your eBay listings to ensure you make a profit.

To find out your Paypal fee percentage click here

Fee (monetary)

This is the fixed fee that Paypal charge per transaction. If your fee is 0.30 cents, then enter 0.30 here.

eBay Settings (General sub tab)

As eBay is the only store that Profit Scraper supports selling on, all the settings relating to the eBay platform are contained within it's own page.

It's important that you complete all the settings before using Profit Scraper otherwise the system will not function correctly.

To access the eBay Settings page, you can either click here or use the member's navigation menu as shown below:

The eBay settings page is divided into multiple sub-tabs as you can see below:

  • General tab - This contains the majority of settings related to eBay.
  • One or more store tabs (e.g. Amazon / Costco UK) - these are eBay settings specific to each store such as shipping policies.

We will first explain the settings in the General tab.

The different settings in the General tab are explained below:

Enable Monitoring & Repricing

Enabling this setting will allow ProfitScraper to monitor and update your eBay listings with price and stock changes. Monitoring runs take place every 45 min.

Listing Fee (monetary)

Depending on your amount of listings, eBay may charge you to list an item. We will use this value to calculate your selling price when repricing your listings. This value is based on the currency of your eBay store.

Final Value Fee (%)

Depending on the category your listings fall under, eBay will charge a variable final valuation fee per listing. As Profit Scraper doesn't know this value until after the sale, we require an "average" final value fee percentage which we use to calculate your selling price when repricing your listings.

Please note - If eBay are charging VAT on your final value fees (UK/EU) and you are not VAT registered, then you should add the VAT to the percentage too. For example, if you decided to use 9% as your average final value fee percentage, you would multiply that figure by 1.2 to get the final value fee with VAT added so this would be 9 * 1.2 = 10.8%.

Exclude IP(s) From Hit Tracking

A powerful feature of Profit Scraper is tracking the number of views your listings receive which is shown amongst other things in your Listing Conversion Report. To ensure that views from your own IP address are excluded, you can optionally enter your IP address here.

Private Listing

If you would like to list your eBay items as private listings, choose Yes. This could be useful to help prevent other eBay sellers from copying your listings.

Round up selling price?

You can optionally choose to round up your selling price to one that is more "friendly" e.g. 4.99 rather than 4.57. The options available are:

  • No - Don't use this feature.
  • Round to nearest 0.99 - Round up all item selling prices to end in 0.99
  • Round to nearest 0.49 or 0.99 - Round up all selling prices to the nearest 0.49 (if the item selling price was less between

Add markup to all items sold by Amazon FBA? (Useful in EU/UK)

This is helpful if you are selling in the EU and wish to increase your default profit margin for items that are sold by FBA sellers who often are not VAT registered so that you will not lose out by not being able to claim VAT from these sellers.

Add markup to all items if sold by Amazon? (Useful in USA)

This is helpful if you are selling in the USA and wish to increase your default profit margin for items that are sold by Amazon so that you can cover your sales tax obligations.

Check all eBay accounts for duplicates?

Use this option if you wish to check all your connected eBay accounts for duplicate listings when using our Bulk Upload tool. If you are using multiple eBay accounts that are unrelated to each other you may want to turn this off.

Do not bulk upload items that have previously been delisted

If enabled, you will be unable to upload any listing which has been previously delisted on any of your connected eBay accounts.

Automatically rotate image when uploading to eBay?

If enabled, all your product images will be rotated by 15 degrees before being uploaded to eBay. This may help to prevent the image from being scanned by copyright infringement tools.

Multiple Locations Text

Enter the text that you want to use. E.g. 'Multiple Locations' or 'United States'

Do not upload OOS items

If enabled, Profit Scraper will not upload any out of stock items during a Bulk Upload.

Exclude VAT from Final Value Fees?

If you are a VAT registered business, you can claim back the VAT that eBay charge on it's selling fees. Therefore you may want to hide the VAT from your Auto Order report and dashboard.

Do not upload items below a certain value?

Here you can choose to automatically ignore products that are above a certain price when bulk uploading. Clicking on YES will open up a new box where you can enter your chosen maximum product price.

Do not upload items above a certain value?

Here you can choose to automatically ignore products that are above a certain price when bulk uploading. Clicking on YES will open up a new box where you can enter your chosen maximum product price.

Include eBay sales tax in dashboard reports?

Choose Yes if you want to include eBay sales tax in your dashboard. This means that your profit will be calculated based on (sales price + sales tax) - fees.

Ignore big price drops when repricing?

Sometimes suppliers can drop prices by a large amount due to flash sales. You may wish to ignore these sudden price drops, especially if you are not using full auto ordering. If you choose Yes, two further settings will appear below:

  • Ignore price drops % - Enter the percentage of the price drop that you wish to ignore E.g Enter 50 if you want to ignore price drops greater than 50%.
  • Ignore price drops for items above - Enter a minimum source price to apply the price drop to. E.g. Enter 100 to only apply the rule to items whose source price is £/$/EUR 100 or more.

eBay Settings (Amazon su-tab)

The settings within the eBay Settings > Amazon sub-tab can be accessed by clicking here or clicking on this tab as shown below:

These settings are specific to your Amazon sourced products that are listed on eBay. There may also be other stores available on the sub-menu such as Costco & Walmart depending on the country you are selling in. The settings for each store need to be chosen for each store separately.

We will go through the Amazon settings here but they mostly apply to other stores too. Just make sure you set each store's settings separately to ensure correct functionality of Profit Scraper.

The explanations of each setting are described below:

Default Handling Time (in days)

This is your default handling time for your listings. We recommend a value of 1, especially if you are using our Auto Ordering feature.

Default Stock Level

If one of your items is out of stock, when we monitor your source and find it in stock, we will update eBay to put it back in stock with this quantity available. Also if you sell an item and it's still in stock, the item will be re-listed with this quantity.

We recommend a stock level of 1, because when only one item is shown in stock, eBay add a message such as "Only one item remaining" to your listing, causing a potential customer to feel more pressure to purchase your item straight away rather than wait. If the item sells, Profit Scraper will update the quantity back to 1 within around 10 minutes if you are using our auto ordering feature.

Default Shipping Service

This is the shipping service that will be displayed on your eBay listing.

We recommend the following:

  • Other courier 3 - 5 days if you are selling in the UK
  • Standard Shipping - if you are selling in the USA
  • Sonstige 1-2 Werktage - if you are selling in Germany
  • Altro corriere 48ore - if you are selling in Italy
  • Autre livraison en 48 h - if you are selling in France

Please note that if you have a shipping business policy set up in your eBay account, you will be able to select it from the dropdown menu (near the top).

Returns Period

This is the returns policy that will be displayed on your eBay listing. We recommend a value of 30 days as this is a requirement to be eligible for the eBay Top Rated Seller program.

Who pays for returns?

Who is responsible for paying for eBay customer returns? If you leave this blank, the default will be applied which is the Buyer.

Premium Shipping Service

This will add a 2nd paid delivery option to your future eBay listings uploaded with Profit Scraper. Profit Scraper will use Amazon’s default delivery service for processing the premium shipping orders. E.g. For UK, this will be the one-day delivery service if you have an Amazon prime account.

Please note - It is against the Amazon TOS to use the next day shipping option for reselling purposes, however, to be a Top Rated Seller on eBay you need to offer a next day delivery service. We recommend therefore to price this premium shipping service at a price that ensures only a small percentage of buyers will use it. For example, in the UK you may want to charge £4.95 for the next day shipping option.

Premium Shipping Service Cost

If you are using a premium shipping service, enter the cost here.

Global Shipping Program

Choose Yes if you would like to use the Global Shipping programme with your listings uploaded with Profit Scraper. For more information about the Global Shipping program, please use the links below:

Do not upload on add-on items?

When set to yes, Profit Scraper will not upload any add-on items during the bulk upload.

Set add-on items as OOS?

If you have existing listings that we find have changed to add-on items during our regular automated scans, then do you want the item to be set as out of stock (OOS) automatically?

The scraping method we use for this takes up to 24h to scrape through all member's items. Every time we scrape, we check, whether the buy box is an add-on. If it is, then the item is set to Out of Stock. If the buy box isn't an add-on, we set it back to in stock.

Add additional sales tax margin to all items?

This is helpful if you are selling in the USA and wish to increase your default profit margin for items that are sold by Amazon (including FBA sellers) so that you can cover your sales tax obligations.
